AFS maintains a full service head department from check outs to rebuilds our expert technicians have over 30 years of knowledge and experience to get you back on the road. Whether is CAT C7, Cummins ISX, Detroit Series 60, John Deere 430 or Mitsubishi S4, our head department is equipped to machine all manufactures of diesel and natural gas cylinder heads.
Standard Checkout includes; magnafluxing for cracks, pressure checking to determine if a head is busted internally. We then resurface and straight edge each head to remove any debris from blown head gaskets. Next we vacuum check to determine if the valve seats leak or the guides are worn.
Standard Rebuild includes the entire check out process along with; installment of new guides, tubes & o-rings (if required), springs, keepers, valve seats, and valves. Each valve is machined to meet O.E. specs. Our rebuild process not only restores your cylinder heads to “like new” condition, it eliminates the pesky and expensive middle man. Saving you down time and money.
Our Recon department has over 30 years experience rebuilding Bendix, Horton and Kieser fan clutches, just to name a few. Each fan clutch is carefully identified, then broken down and checked for ware. Our technicians thoroughly inspect wearable parts to determine if replacement or recondition is the best decision. Replacing all old seals and o-rings is standard to ensure proper sealing upon re-installment. Once reassembled each unit is tested for quality before being returned to the customer.
Mechanical fuel injectors are our specialty. Specializing in Bosch fuel injectors we can also calibrate, test, and rebuild Denso, Navistar, Stanadyne and Zexel injectors just to name a few. Each unit is carefully identified, completely disassembled and cleaned. Component parts are then qualified and tested with wear parts being reconditioned or replaced. Our Bacharach CD3 allows our specialists a safe, fast, and extremely accurate means of calibrating our injectors to reach peak operating efficiency once they been rebuilt.
The AFS Fuel Department is also able to inspect all Bosch and Detroit Series 60 electronic fuel injectors using a state of the art EPS 205 Common Rail Injector Test Stand. Using the EPS 205 we are able to test for leaks, inspect injector start up behavior and run fuel flow tests for common rail injectors.
New Injector Service Options for 2017 include checking and testing Cummins ISB, ISC, ISL, QSK, ISX, Celect; CAT 3406E, 3126, C15, C9, C7; Maxxforce 7, Detroit 60 series (12L) & 50 series, Ford 6.4L and there are more to come!
